Thank you for expressing an interest in our Society.
The Society Aims and Objectives are: -
To preserve the coal mining heritage of the Cannock Chase Coalfield.
To encourage the collection of coal mining artifacts, documents and photographs.
To carry out research into all deep coal mining sites and company's in the Cannock Chase Coalfield.
To bring together people with an interest in coalmining whether it is in this area or elsewhere and also to promote the heritage of the area.
To inform the old & new residents alike of the Cannock Chase District about there coal mining heritage.
There are two classes of membership available in the CCMHS : -
1). Full adult member @ £5.00 per year.
2). Junior membership under 18years (FREE)
Membership will run from 1st January to the 31 December inclusive

As a member of the CCMHS you are expected to promote and forward the aims of
the CCMHS at all times.
Annual General Meetings will be held in the first quarter
of each year.
Committee members will stand in office for
one year, after
which time they must retire. The retiring officers of the committee may
offer themselves for re-election. These officers and any new officers
CAN ONLY be elected by the
membership at the Annual General Meeting.
Each fully paid up ADULT member
will have one vote at the Annual General Meeting.
The CCMHS headquarters will be at the Museum of Cannock Chase as long as
this is permitted.
ANY
MISCONDUCT liable to bring the CCMHS into disrepute or
ANY MISUSE of CCMHS funds or property by an officer(s) or
member(s) will result in EXPULSION
from the CCMHS.
Membership will run from 1st of January to the 31st
December each year. Full membership will be
£5.00(GBP) per annum; Junior
membership will be free to persons under the age of 18 years. There will be
no reduction in fees for a part year. Membership fees will be collected at
the start of each year.
On leaving the CCMHS no refund of membership will be made.
Donation of any item, Document, artefact or photograph to the CCMHS must be
covered by the CCMHS Object
Collection Form* and comprehensively documented.
CCMHS property can only be loaned out by permission of
TWO of the Officers of the
Committee. A Loan of
CCMHS Proper Form* must be completed by the Committee members.
Due to its high value, loan of the Multi Media Equipment is restricted to
CCMHS business only and must be accompanied by a person competent in its
usage. A Loan of projector form*
must be completed.
